Who Owns Black Ink
We have had a lot of people ask the question of who owns Black Ink. This is typically followed by them asking where the company first started. After all, every company usually has a cool story about their beginning, right?
So, who owns Black Ink? Black Ink is owned by Parker Russell of Maine. The business started while Parker was deployed with the military. At the time, Black Ink was just a name he had drawn into the sand, one that he would pursue upon returning home.
Where Did Black Ink First Open
Upon coming home, Parker was faced with a hefty startup cost if he wanted to begin a successful and scalable business. Rather than slowly bootstrapping the business from the ground up, he decided to run a crowdfund on Kickstarter. The Kickstarter was successful and he was able to raise over $10,000 to help with the cost of a production sized coffee roaster.
Apple, Google, Amazon, Microsoft and Disney all started out of a garage. Black Ink was able to entirely skip this step by launching in it's own dedicated roasting space, right next to the garage! This humble beginning is one that will always remain embedded within Black Ink's story.
